Compensation and Benefits Administrator

BlueHornet is seeking a talented Compensation & Benefits Administrator with a broad knowledge of compensation practices across the Americas. The Compensation & Benefits Administrator will oversee the day to day functions of compensation, benefits, and HR analytics and ensure compliance with applicable laws.

Reporting to the Sr. Vice President of Human Resources, this individual will be a key contributor in helping to create, implement, and execute the strategy around our benefits and compensation programs across all our locations.

Major Duties and Responsibilities


  • Administers employee benefits programs such as 401K, medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and other benefit programs.
  • Develops and recommends specifications for new plans or modifies existing plans to maintain company’s competitive position in the labor market.
  • Oversees the implementation of all new or modified plans including, preparation of announcement materials, coordination of employee meetings, training for HR and senior leadership team.
  • Collaborates with in-country leaders to build benefit programs in new and existing international markets.
  • Partners with payroll and external vendors to ensure benefit enrollments, deductions, and file feeds are properly setup, tested, and in working order.
  • Works closely with Human Resources and Payroll teams to setup benefits in HRIS and to reconcile Payroll deductions as appropriate.
  • Evaluates and compares existing company benefits with those of other employers by analyzing other plans, surveys, and other sources of information.
  • Drives the annual open enrollment process, involved in all phases of renewal discussions, benefits communication plan, conducting employee meetings, etc.


  • Assists in the development, review, and implementation of formal compensation policies, guidelines and procedures.
  • Helps to develop compensation plans, salary levels and bonus plan administration.
  • Monitors the effectiveness of all policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure they are consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives.
  • Provides advice to leadership on pay decisions and job evaluation, including the design of creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs.
  • Partners with HR, Finance and Payroll teams to build compensation programs in new and existing markets.
  • Participate in compensation benchmarking, create pay practices and manage pay administration.
  • Provides advice to corporate staff on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretation and job evaluation including the design of creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs.
  • Manages the administration of direct compensation (executive, exempt and nonexempt compensation programs) for corporate staff including the processing, recording and reporting of compensation-related actions taken on salaried employees.
  • Remains apprised of federal, state and local compensation laws and regulations in order to ensure company compliance.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or closely related field.
  • Seven (7) years’ experience in Human Resources, with at least five (5) years administering Health and Welfare programs, 401k Plan administration, and compensation plan design.
  • Highly analytical and a strong background in compensation design, analysis and administration, including experience with the design of incentive programs, and executive, exempt and non-exempt plans.
  • Strong knowledge of benefits compliance and reporting requirements, enrollment processes and plan administration with corporate benefits experience strongly desired.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal regulations pertaining to benefits and compensation, as well as demonstrated experience with HR information systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of and ability to implement pay structures, market analyses and job evaluation.
  • Broad knowledge of compensation practices across Americas; International a plus.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational, consultative, analytical and problem solving skills.
