Corporate Controller

BlueHornet is seeking an experienced Corporate Controller. Under the direction of the CFO, the Controller is a key member of the Accounting and Finance team. This position will contribute to the successful integration of newly acquired international subsidiaries into our consolidated financial group. This will require the incumbent to be capable of successfully operating in a rapidly evolving organization, handling multiple priorities, demonstrating creativity in development and management of policies, procedures and processes, and maintaining a basic knowledge of the financial recording and reporting requirements related to various governmental initiatives.

The Corporate Controller will also assist with financial planning and analysis, decision support and budgeting, in support of BlueHornet’s business and strategic plan. The Controller will also be responsible for managing the daily, weekly and monthly accounting cycle and related processes including international in-country GL processes. This individual will serve as the primary contact with external auditors and is responsible for ensuring compliance with Non-US statutory audit requirements.


  • Direct the department’s domestic and international GL operations, consolidations, financial statement preparation, internal controls and reviews, financial standards compliance and audits.
  • Oversee the worldwide monthly closing process and corporate consolidation.
  • Oversee international customer invoicing procedures and ensure the accurate and timely recording of revenues.
  • Oversee procurement, accounts payable and T&E expense processing.
  • Assist in the implementation of NetSuite ERP, Concur T&E system and other systems necessary to support the consolidated operations.
  • Review all international controls and propose and implement new and amended control procedures and processes.
  • Coordinate and manage external statutory audits annually.
  • Responsible for all Treasury functions minimizing currency transactional costs.
  • Produce accurate and timely consolidated internal financial statements and support external financial statement reporting requirements as needed.
  • Oversee all aspects of the company’s worldwide Payroll functions.
  • Ensure balance sheet accounts are reconciled in a timely matter and reconciling items are resolved.
  • Effectively manage change within the group and/or organization resulting from change in processes, policies and/or acquisitions.
  • Provide strong leadership of the finance and accounting staff including the training and development of the team.


  • BS Degree in Accounting; CPA certification (preferred) and 10+ years of experience in accounting management; experience in international operations is required.
  • Big 4 Accounting firm experience and experience in the software/technology industry is a strong plus.
  • High energy level with a hands-on approach combined with the ability to provide leadership and structure in a fast paced dynamic environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles generally accepted in the U.S.
  • Knowledge of Treasury functions and currency management.
  • Experience working with international subsidiaries, including establishing controls and managing financial reporting.
  • High comfort level with utilizing financial applications to enhance and automate processes, reporting, analysis and controls.
  • Must have experience directly managing a team of accounting professionals; global management experience is required.
