Email Marketing Manager

BlueHornet is seeking an exceptionally talented and driven email marketer to create and execute our B2B email programs. This role will be responsible for ensuring BlueHornet stays on the cutting edge of email innovation and will implement email best practices, developing and implementing strategic programs to increase acquisition, improve engagement and conversion, and nurture leads through the customer journey.

The Email Marketing Manager will also leverage their email expertise to assist with the development of content including blog posts, webinars, whitepapers, and the like for our content marketing campaigns. In addition, this role will own and execute BlueHornet’s social media program, fully leveraging social to drive brand awareness and lead generation through our social channels.

You’re a self-starter with deep technical expertise and a well-developed understanding of how to optimize campaigns for better engagement and conversions. You enjoy implementing ideas for improving email performance, can craft compelling messages and create emails that stand out in the inbox through effective subject lines, copy and creative.  You love measuring your work and believe in the process of iterating on metrics to create ever-greater success.


  • Manage the overall strategy, execution, performance, and effectiveness of the BlueHornet email marketing program.  Plan for, develop, test, iterate on, and send email campaigns.
  • Use data-driven analysis and customer insights to execute A/B testing plans and build consensus for future direction on contact strategy.
  • Provide regular reporting on email program performance, identify areas of opportunity and monitor competitors.
  • Understand and develop segmentation strategies; use internal data resources to filter and target appropriate segments
  • Maintain a results-oriented email calendar and work with internal stakeholders (creative, marketing managers) to execute
  • Author original content on happenings in the email industry, email best practices and innovations to educate and provide added value to our clients and prospects.
  • Develop and execute a social calendar integrated with our content, event and product campaigns.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of email best practices, success metrics, and global SPAM legislation
  • Demonstrated ease, facility, and interest in working with email program data, including standard email engagement metrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a large number of email campaigns and segmentation strategies
  • Understanding of email marketing operations, technology, testing techniques and platforms specifically building requirements for list segmentation, workflows and triggered events
  • Strong writing skills including experience developing content
  • The ability to multi-task, manage competing priorities and requests, keep others informed and up-to-date and organize / prioritize under pressure
  • Social media program management and posting experience, including paid social programs.
  • Skilled with: Google Analytics // WordPress // Photoshop // InDesign // SalesForce


  • Bachelor’s degree in digital marketing, marketing or related field.
