Students, Parents, Alumni
The University of San Diego wanted to develop a system that
would allow the parents, students, and alumni to learn about
specific events and programs.
BlueHornet immediately implemented the Echosystem solution,
which enabled the University’s web team to send emails
to their current and future subscribers. These emails are
targeted to subscribers based on their interests and preferences.
The emails also include links, which point subscribers back
to the University’s website for more information.
Through the combined efforts of BlueHornet and the University
of San Diego, the students, parents, and alumni now receive
targeted email communications. These targeted emails not only
increased the parent and alumni attendance at school activities
and events, they also increased donations to the University.
The BlueHornet system also allows the University of San Diego
to gather information on what types of communication the students,
parents, and alumni wish to receive from USD. This allows
the University to send subscribers information that pertains
directly to their specific needs and interests. The University
can then export this data into their internal database. The
success of the original email campaigns grew into the opportunity
to develop new relationships in other departments of the school
including the USD Law School, the USD Corporate and Professional
Education Program, and the USD Real Estate Institute.
